Memorial Weekend Cruise
May 29 - June 1
Memorial Day weekend
The sailing season is fast approaching and With it the first Glenmar cruise. Memorial day, a time to honor our military personnel. A tradition dating back to the civil war and taking on a more formal observance in later years. It is also a time to take advantage of the long weekend and enjoy the spring labors of boat prep. Let’s go sailing!!!!
One doesn’t want to be overly ambitious on the first cruise, so let’s keep it close.
Saturday May 29th: Swan creek; dinghy raft-up early evening, byob and snacks
Sunday May 30th: Worton creek; plan to spend the late afternoon and eve on the sand spit. We will have a charcoal pit for grilling ( byob and food to cook). Sharpen your athletic skills, there will be a ladder toss competition after everyone has properly imbibed. Yes there will be prizes
Monday May 31st: Memorial day; Give a silent thanks to those that served, hang a flag, toss a red poppy with the outgoing tide and head home.
For those of you with an extra day to sail, I want to head over to Fairley creek and anchor for the night after all the power boat parties have left. It is such a pretty creek. Feel free to join us for Monday night.
